What is an AIR FRYER?

An air fryer is essentially a compact, powerful countertop convection oven that mimics the results of deep-frying using little to no oil. Instead of submerging your food in a vat of boiling fat, it uses a high-powered fan to rapidly circulate intense, dry, hot air—usually up to 400°F (200°C)—around a perforated cooking basket. This process, known scientifically as the Maillard reaction, quickly dries out the surface of your food to create a beautifully crisp, golden-brown exterior while locking in moisture on the inside. Because it heats up almost instantly and cooks significantly faster than a traditional home oven, it has become the appliance of choice for whipping up quick, healthier versions of everything from crispy French fries and chicken wings to roasted vegetables and even small baked goods. It’s very beginner-friendly with just a simple temperature setting and timer, and the only real rule of thumb is to give the basket a quick shake halfway through cooking to ensure everything crisps up evenly all around.

PROS OF USING AN AIR FRYER IN INDIAN HOMES.

Massive Time Saver: Thanks to its small size and high-velocity fan, it heats up instantly and cooks up to 30% faster than a traditional oven.

Healthier “Fried” Food: You can get that crisp, satisfying texture with up to 80% less oil than traditional deep frying.

Energy and Cost: Efficiently reduces electricity usage compared to heating a full-sized kitchen oven, helping to keep your energy bills down.

Won’t Heat the Kitchen: Perfect for hot days, it traps the heat inside the unit instead of heating your entire living space.

Great for Reheats: It brings leftovers (think cold pizza, fries or takeout) back to life, crisp and delicious, totally avoiding the soggy texture of a microwave.
